Vera Bradley partnered with the United Way on Thursday, August 2, for United Day of Caring, a day set aside for members of the city to come together, roll up their sleeves and pitch in to make the local community a little more beautiful.
More than 75 employees spent the day split between the local women’s shelter and a Fort Wayne elementary school, landscaping, painting and restoring a bit of color to weathered and worn playground equipment.
The final task of the day was recreating a sketch by Graphic Designer Matt H. The adorable wall mural of students sliding down books and teeter-tottering on pencils will welcome the students back when they return in the fall.
How do you make your community more colorful?

awsome how cool and I have to say you guys are awsome painters
I live in a very small country town. We have a committee called “Community That Cares” Each year we have bake sales, Fish Fries, and 50/50 drawings to raise money for the town’s 4th of July fireworks display! Now thats pretty colorful
AMAZING GRACE!!!! What a wonderful thing. If you ever do this in an area near the poconos I and my husband will be there to help out.
Way to go!! Helping out the community is always fun! I love to go to elementary schools and spend time with the kids and help with events.
That’s wonderful! We’re currently planning our Days of Caring event for our company’s upcoming United Way Campaign in September. It is always a great time and so gratifying.
